A few months ago I signed up for a writing site called LifeTips.com. This is a site that offers tips and answers questions on just about any topic you could name. After I'd signed up, I applied to write tips for a few of their tip sites, but nothing happened. I didn't think about it too much, but decided to have another try this week.
When I applied to write tips about leather (I had all kinds of ideas for that one!), I got a nice rejection that said I had to write 10 tips for one of their public service sites instead, kind of like paying my dues (and honing my skills). Off I trotted to the Lifetips site to see what was available. I knew nothing about safaris or Stockholm, so in the end I opted for fruit, a good choice as I'd recently completed a juice fast (without the juice, but that's another story).
I looked around to see what I could write about and vitamins, minerals and kiwi fruit seemed like good choices. I came up with a couple of others and wrote them up. They were all quite short, just a couple of hundred words each.
I sent off my first batch of fruit tips yesterday, had them approved and sent off my second batch today. Then I got an email asking whether I wanted to try my hand at one of the paid sites. You betcha, I thought! So now I've got two weeks to write 100 tips on video chat. Wish me luck! And if I'm not around much for a while, you'll know why.
